Netflix’s Black Lives Matter Collection Highlights Struggle, Fight for Equality

Netflix has pulled together 45-plus titles about racial injustice and features on black Americans into a new Black Lives Matter collection.

Users in the U.S. can access movies, documentaries and TV shows, which include a range of titles, from Michelle Obama’s “Becoming” to the Oscar-winning “Moonlight.”

Also included in the eclectic curation is “Dear White People,” “13th,” “Mudbound,” “When They See Us Now” and Spike Lee’s “Da 5 Bloods,” which will be released on June 12.

The streamer said in a tweet: “When we say ‘Black Lives Matter,’ we also mean ‘Black storytelling matters. With an understanding that our commitment to true, systemic change will take time – we’re starting by highlighting powerful and complex narratives about the Black experience.”

The collection is accessible via search or with the link netflix.com/blacklivesmatter.

Variety first reported the news.
