If you’re looking to binge your way to Halloween with an endless stream of horror films, the new streaming service Kino Cult will help you do that for free.
These aren’t mainstream films. This is the kind of thrilling, low-budget ultra-trash that used to terrify children with over-the-top VHS art back in the rental store days. Check out some of these titles:
- The Nude Vampire
- Astro Zombies
- Let the Corpses Tan
- A Bay of Blood
- Virgin Witch
- Killbillies
- Beasts Clawing at Straws
The Streamable can confidently recommend the bonkers documentary “Atomic Cafe,” which shows Cold War-era educational films about how to survive an atomic blast at your school by hiding under your desk. To quote one of the U.S. Army training films included here, “Viewed from a safe distance, the atomic bomb is one of the most beautiful sights ever seen by man.”
“From the art house to the haunted house, the channel will dive deep into unapologetically weird genre cinema, blending recent art house discoveries fresh from cinemas with high quality restorations of notorious grindhouse gems,” according to a press release.
It’s certainly not for everyone, but it may be perfect entertainment for a night of pizza and beer and B-movie schlock.
Kino Cult is available on Roku, Apple TV, Google TV, Fire TV, iOS and Android devices. You can also watch on your web browser.
