What’s Streaming This Week: ‘Halloween Kills’ & ‘Succession’

Michael King

It’s that scary time of year — and the world of streaming gets in on the act this year, with a new installment of the venerable Halloween franchise that brings back original film star Jamie Lee Curtis more than 40 years after the original John Carpenter classic hit movie screens. The 12th film in the franchise, Halloween Kills will land simultaneously in theaters and on Peacock. Laurie Strode (Curtis) has one mission on her mind: putting an end to masked serial killer Michael Myers. One bit of trivia about the Halloween franchise: the mask that Michael Myers wears is a painted, ill-fitting William Shatner mask.

After being ambushed by his rebellious son at the end of Season two of HBO’s Succession, Logan Roy (Brian Cox) begins Season three in a perilous position, scrambling to secure familial, political, and financial alliances. Tensions rise as a bitter corporate battle threatens to turn into a family civil war. The long-awaited third season of the award-winning show kicks off Sunday night at 9 pm ET on HBO. Episodes will stream on HBO Max on the following day.

While everything doesn’t go bump in the night this week, there’s a lot of good stuff out there. Just Watch This:
