Frozen 2 is Now Available to Stream on Disney Plus, Even Earlier Than Expected

Jason Gurwin

Yesterday, Disney announced that “Frozen II” would arrive on Disney+ three months early. While it was originally not supposed to be released until late-June, that was moved up — and now even earlier. The movie was expected to debut on Disney+ tomorrow (March 15th), but it is now available to stream on Disney+.

How to Stream “Frozen 2” on Disney+

In January, Disney+ released the live-action remakes of “Aladdin” and “The Lion King”, and in February the service added “Toy Story 4”.

In the U.S., the film will initially be available in high definition, with Ultra HD video playback available to all subscribers on Tuesday, March 17. Internationally, “Frozen 2” will be available on Disney+ in Canada, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand on Tuesday, March 17.

“‘Frozen 2’ has captivated audiences around the world through its powerful themes of perseverance and the importance of family, messages that are incredibly relevant during this time, and we are pleased to be able to share this heartwarming story early with our Disney+ subscribers to enjoy at home on any device,” said Bob Chapek, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company.

The sequel follows Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf, as they head far into the forest to learn the truth about an ancient mystery of their kingdom.

In addition to other 2019 blockbusters still to come like Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Disney+ will see new originals come to the service in 2020, including Marvel’s “WandaVision,” which was originally slated to debut in 2021.
