Hulu Acquires Exclusive US Rights to Jamie Oliver’s Cooking Show ‘Jamie: Keep Cooking and Carry On’

Hulu has added another show to its roster. According to Deadline, the streamer has acquired exclusive U.S. rights to Jamie Oliver’s cooking show “Jamie: Keep Cooking and Carry On.” The show was originally a product of the UK’s Channel 4, created for people who wanted to try new things in the kitchen as we were forced to stay at home.

“The series was produced extraordinarily quickly as a direct response to people looking for help in these unprecedented times,” stated Samantha Beddoes, the executive producer at Jamie Oliver Group. “People who were looking for useful and practical advice to respond to the fluctuating availability of ingredients as well as inspiration for new ways to cook for the family. Jamie was in exactly the same boat as all of us watching.”

“Jamie: Keep Cooking and Carry On” will premiere on Hulu on July 27, Deadline reports, and will see the British chef creating simple recipes with kitchen staples.

Just last week, reports came out that the Disney-owned streamer will be sending an adaptation of author Sally Rooney’s “Conversations With Friends” straight to series. The BBC reportedly committed to the 12-part, half-hour series in February.

“Normal People” director Lenny Abrahamson will also direct “Conversations with Friends,” while Alice Birch will be the lead writer, according to Deadline. Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Emma Norton, Rose Garnett Tommy Bulfin and Rooney and Abrahamson will executive produce, while Catherine Magee is series producer.

The streamer also snagged Luke Evans for their upcoming limited series “Nine Perfect Strangers.” He joins other previously announced heavy-hitters Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy.

“Nine Perfect Strangers” is based on “Big Little Lies” author Liane Moriarty’s latest book. The series “takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living,” Deadline reported.
