Netflix’s ‘Red Notice’ to Restart Shooting Under Quarantine Bubble Next Month, Dwayne Johnson Says

Netflix is taking a page from the NBA, according to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The actor revealed that filming on “Red Notice” — a movie which he is co-producing with the streaming giant through his company Seven Bucks Production — will resume under a quarantine bubble.

The bubble is the method the NBA used in order to restart the season, in which the “participants live, practice and play all games,” CNN reported. The same treatment will be provided for all filmmakers, cast and crew, Johnson revealed.

“Like so many of us here in the U.S .and around the world — getting back can be a tough decision that work requires real consideration and strategic planning around best health practices and safety measures,” he wrote on Instagram.

“I’m happy to announce our ‘Red Notice’ production will resume shooting next month in mid September. Thank you to our tremendous partners at Netflix who’ve joined us shoulder to shoulder to provide the safest and most aggressive “quarantined bubble” for our production crew as possible. I’m confident in our safety strategy and execution, but we’ll also be fluid and amenable to best practice changes on the fly …”

In June, Netflix announced they will also resume production on “The Witcher” beginning August 17. The Henry Cavill-helmed series shoots at Arborfield Studios, roughly 40 miles west of London. The series premiered on Netflix back in December and quickly became the streamer’s most demanded show worldwide.

They initially became the first series to halt production in the UK back in March.
