Pluto TV Adds ‘Made in Britain’ and ‘Brit-pocalypse’ to British Channels

Pluto TV continues to expand. The streaming service has added two new channels to its British lineup — “Made in Britain” and “Brit-pocalypse.” “Made in Britain” offers round-the-clock access to films, TV shows and documentaries ranging from British history to stories of pop icons and, of course, the royal family.

“Brit-pocalypse,” on the other hand, posits the undertaking of Great Britain by natural disasters. The channel will air miniseries such as “Flood,” which chronicles a tidal surge as it flood the Thames, “Day of the Triffids” with dangerous carnivorous plants and “Ice,” the last of the apocalyptic disaster series.

Pluto TV growth continues in the U.S. as the ViacomCBS-owned platform announced earlier this month that they added the PGA Tour channel, giving watchers round-the-clock access to golf highlights.

PGA Tour (Ch. 477) allows viewers to watch “highlights from every tournament plus player interviews, player profiles, tournament previews, swing analysis and all the greatest shots and amazing moments,” Pluto says. There will also be live Featured Hole coverage on Saturdays and Sundays for 23 events.

Before the merger with CBS, Viacom added 43 new channels to Pluto TV in the fourth quarter alone, including 24 Viacom branded channels. They also announced that Pluto TV Latino now had 22 channels, with over 4,000 hours of Spanish and Portuguese programming.

Viacom announced that Pluto TV is now being used by approximately 20 million users every month, up nearly 70 percent this calendar year. This boost is from the 18 million they announced in August and the 12 million active users when they acquired the company for $340 million last January.
