Pluto TV, NFL Extend Alliance in Multi-Year Agreement

AVOD Pluto TV and the NFL have re-upped their multi-year agreement.

In 2019, both parties created the NFL Channel on Pluto TV. It is a curated feed of season recaps and replays of classic games from the NFL Films and NFL Media libraries.

But in celebration of the NFL’s 100th season, new programming has been added, including “NFL’s 100 Greatest,” “NFL 100 All-Time Team” and “NFL 100 Generations.”

Additional new content, such as “NFL Game Replay,” “Sound FX” and “NFL Top 10,” will also stream. Plus, the channel will update with previews, press conferences, etc. These shows could garner extra attention if the pandemic shuts down the fall football season.

ViacomCBS is facing the renewal of NFL rights, which end after the 2022 season. The company is using all its assets to showcase the NFL, including CBS All Access.

Jesse Wallace, NFL vice president of affiliate sales and distribution, said: “NFL fans enjoy having access to our classic games and programming year-round, and we’re proud to give Pluto viewers access to more exciting content from their favorite teams and players.”

As of now, NFL training camps will open later in July. The regular season is scheduled to kick off September 10.
