While the coronavirus has put the kibosh on most sporting events, one of the most highlighted events of the sports year — the NFL Draft — will go on. This year’s draft, which will take place virtually, will begin airing on ESPN, ABC and the NFL Network at 8 p.m. ET tomorrow, April 23.

The 2020 NFL Draft will feature all 32 teams, NFL officials and roughly 60 candidates hoping to be the next big star in pro football. Louisiana State University’s Joe Burrow is expected to be the selected first overall by the Cincinnati Bengals who hold the first pick, CNN reports. The Heisman-winning quarterback recently led his team to a national championship. If he’s picked first, Burrow will become the ninth quarterback to win a Heisman and be selected first overall in the draft since 1967.
Chase Young, Ohio State University’s defensive end, is purported to be the number two pick by the Washington Redskins. According to CNN, “Young won the Bednarik Trophy in 2019, which is awarded to the best defensive player in college football. He was a dominant force in 2019 despite being suspended for two games, recording 16.5 sacks, 21 tackles for a loss and forcing 6 fumbles.”
This year’s draft will also serve as a virtual fundraiser called “Draft-A-Thon,” supporting six charities and their respective coronavirus relief efforts: the American Red Cross, the CDC Foundation, Feeding America, Meals on Wheels, the Salvation Army and the United Way.
