Netflix Adds Lisa Kudrow to ‘Space Force’ Cast

Fern Siegel

Lisa Kudrow (“Friends”) is joining the Netflix series “Space Force,” which is slated for a May 29 debut.

The workplace comedy is from two “Office” alums: Steve Carell, who played Michael, and the series’ co-creator Greg Daniels. The plot revolves around staffers creating Space Force, another branch of the armed services, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

Carell doubles as a co-executive producer on the series.

Kudrow play Carell’s wife Maggie, the spouse of four-star Gen. Mark R. Naird. Her back story: An Air Force wife who has followed her husband’s career for decades is suddenly finding herself.

In addition to her TV career, Kudrow has done well at the box office, starring in “Analyze This,” “The Boss Baby” and “Booksmart.” She produced and starred in Showtime’s “Web Therapy.”

The show also stars John Malkovich (“Burn After Reading,” “The New Pope”), Diana Silvers, Tawny Newsome and Ben Schwartz.

Netflix describes the comedy as: “Skeptical but dedicated, Mark uproots his family and moves to a remote base in Colorado where he and a colorful team of scientists and “Spacemen” are tasked by the White House with getting American boots on the moon (again) in a hurry and achieving total space dominance.”

Daniels is working on two series. His Amazon Prime Video sci-fi comedy ‘Upload” debuts May 1. The first season will have 10 episodes.
