Netflix Renews ‘Lucifer’ for a Sixth and Final Season

Just a day after revealing “Lucifer’s” season five premiere date, Netflix has once again given the people what they want by announcing the show will be back for a sixth and final season. Though they previously stated the fifth season was the last one, the streaming giant confirmed that the sixth will be the definitive end of the show.

Back in February, TVLine reported that the streaming giant was in talks with Warner Bros. about a possible sixth season. In May, Deadline went on to report that lead star Tom Ellis signed a deal to comeback as the title character for a sixth season, but Netflix didn’t make an official announcement at that time.

“Lucifer” was picked up by Netflix back in June 2018 after FOX axed the series after three seasons. The cancellation kick-started a huge fan outcry, including a #SaveLucifer campaign. Netflix then released the fourth season in May 2019, following the devil coping with an intrusive priest and Eve, his first girlfriend, played by Inbar Lavi. A month later, the streamer renewed the show for a 16-episode fifth season.
