Rumors of a NVIDIA Shield TV successor have been going around for some time now and today it seemed the latest version of the device was made available on Amazon. Showing up on the site without announcement was the NVIDIA Shield TV Pro which was priced at $199 and will be available Oct 28. The listing has since been pulled off Amazon.

The new device is a huge improvement on its predecessor. While the set-top-box isn’t too different, the new remote has been revamped for better use. Instead of the super-slim look of the one prior, the new Shield TV has a larger form factor that has more physical buttons and a triangular design. The remote now has a dedicated microphone button for Google Assistant and also a new button for Netflix.
The remote also has physical buttons for volume controls, power, and play/pause and the listing mentioned a lost remote locator, likely linked to software. The new remote also uses standard batteries instead of the “coin” battery.
The Shield TV Pro offers a 4K HDR Streaming Media Player; high performance with the latest advanced NVIDIA Tegra X1+ processor making it 25% faster than the previous generation; 3GB RAM; two USB ports; built-in Google assistant, so it works with Google Home, Alexa or Amazon Echo; and most notably, has Dolby Vision for better picture quality and immersive audio.
