New Shows Streaming This Week, Including ‘Cursed’ on Netflix and ‘Brave New World’ on Peacock
It’s a busy week for streaming, especially with NBCUniversal’s Peacock debuting tomorrow. And the choices are myriad — from a new “Psych” movie to the third season of “Absentia.” There is a variety of shows and genres for every viewer. Here’s a look at the new shows premiering this week on a variety of streamers:
Tuesday, July 14
- “The Business of Drugs” (Netflix) — In this docuseries, former CIA officer Amaryllis Fox tracks the war on drugs worldwide and the economic fortunes that drive the illicit trade.

“Brave New World” is an adaptation of Aldous Huxley’s popular novel about a utopian society that achieves peace by outlawing money, monogamy, family and privacy.

“The Capture” – A British thriller about a Special Forces corporal trying to clear his name of a crime supposedly captured on CCTV.

“Cleopatra in Space” —The Egyptian princess gets caught in a time portal and propelled 30,000 years into the future, where she has to save the Nile Galaxy.

“Curious George” – The adventures of the beloved monkey George and the Man with the Yellow Hat.

“In Deep With Ryan Lochte” — A documentary about the Olympic swimmer and the 2016 incident in Rio that changed his life.

- “House of Ho” (HBO Max) — charts the lives of the wealthy Vietnamese-America Ho family living in Houston, Texas.

It’s a Dog’s Life With Bill Farmer Season 1 finale (Disney+) — Bill meets snake search dogs and Hawaiian conversation dogs.

“We Are Freestyle Love Supreme” (Hulu) The doc follows the improvisational hip hop group, which includes Lin-Manuel Miranda before his “Hamilton” fame.

- “The Last Dance” (Netflix) — The doc, which first debuted on ESPN, follows basketball great Michael Jordan, especially his last season with the Chicago Bulls.
