Peacock is officially available nationwide. The NBCUniversal-owned streamer was first released exclusively to Comcast’s Xfinity X1 and Flex customers in April, but as of today, the service is available across most devices. As the last major service to be launched over the last eight months, Peacock has had cord-cutters buzzing.
The service launched with three tiers — a free tier featuring more than 13,000 hours of movies and shows. The service also offers Peacock Premium, which includes 20,000 hours of movies and shows, for $4.99 per month, as well as an ad-free tier for $9.99.
With nine originals on deck as well as library content, including classics such as “King of Queens,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Two and a Half Men,” and films such as “E.T.,” “Schindler’s List,” “Reservoir Dogs” and “Children of Men,” Peacock fits right in with competitors Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, HBO Max and Disney+. They will however, differentiate themselves with their live event offerings, streaming 175 exclusive Premier League matches in the 2020-21 season on Peacock Premium.
Only hours after its launch, Peacock is already trending on Twitter. Here is what subscribers are saying as they #FlocktoPeacock.
Didn’t know it was gonna be “free”, which is great news considering I was not in a hurry to pay for another streaming service when all I wanted to do was watch “Psych 2” #FlockToPeacock

It’s nice to see that Nicolas Cage gets his own catagory on the #peacock steaming service. I mean honestly that’s worth the free sign up. #flocktopeacock That and #PSYCHTheMovie2 pic.twitter.com/gIR2g8bkEz

One of the main selling points for why people should #FlockToPeacock has been the free tier, but so far I’m seeing a lot of “Watch with Premium” buttons. pic.twitter.com/vWTPLsUwGT

I’m gonna have to wait on someone else’s review of the platform—that’s just one streaming service too many for this time, even though they’re offering the basic version for free. #FlockToPeacock

#FlockToPeacock one of the main reasons I was actually gonna pay to sign up was to finally be able to binge watch the original law and order but they only have seasons 13-20 wtf 🤷🏽♀️ 🙄 @peacockTV #LawAndOrder #peacock #dissapointed pic.twitter.com/9bbdekFwmi

Why would @NBC release a streaming app that is unavailable on all of the main streaming platforms? Not impressed. P.S. i want my money back. #FlockToPeacock
