Pluto TV Partners With Hisense’s Vidaa to Expand Globally

Fern Siegel

Pluto TV, a free streaming television service in the U.S., has teamed with Vidaa International, a subsidiary of Hisense, the third-largest television manufacturer in the world, for global distribution.

They are bringing Pluto TV 250-plus channels to Vidaa’s platform in the U.S., Europe and Latin America. The service remains free everywhere.

In addition, starting this spring, all Hisese televisions sold in the U.S. and Mexico will feature a branded Pluto TV Button that sends viewers to the Vidaa platform.

Last week, the service was host to a marathon of the premiere episode of CBS All Access’ “Star Trek: Picard.” On Monday, ViacomCBS announced the streamer will launch in Latin America come March.

“Partnering with Hisense and Vidaa aligns perfectly with our goals, accelerating our mission to entertain the planet,” stated Brendon Thomas, vice president distribution, Pluto TV. “The global reach of Hisense’s newly relaunched Vidaa platform will effortlessly bring free, premium TV to millions more viewers in dozens of countries.”

Pluto TV now streams entertainment to more than 20 million monthly active users, across 30 devices including mobile, web, CTV, gaming consoles and set-top boxes in the U.S., UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

A larger European installation is scheduled for later this year.
