Quibi Announces Cara Delevingne Will Executive Produce and Host All-Female Practical Joke Series

Quibi, the upcoming short-form streaming service, announced that Cara Delevingne will executive produce and host a new series being produced by ITV America’s Sirens Media. In each episode of the show, Delevingne, along with some female accomplices will wreak havoc, executing a new stunt or practical joke, putting themselves in unwieldy and unpredictable situations in the process.

“Cara’s an icon in so many ways, and it’s a privilege to partner with her to develop something that authentically encapsulates her unique energy and sensibility,” Sirens Media President Jessica Sebastian said. “As far as I know, a series in this space with this level of female guidance and representation, both in front of and behind the camera, is unprecedented, and we’re ecstatic to bring this new take on the genre to the ideal platform in Quibi.”

Quibi, which was founded by DreamWorks founder, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and former eBay CEO, Meg Whitman, is set to launch next April. The streaming service has been gleaning content for their platform. They currently have content lined up with ESPN, which will be the exclusive U.S. multi-sport content provider for Quibi’s curated news and information programming, Daily Essentials.

Quibi also partnered with CBS to produce 60 in 6, a more condensed version of 60 Minutes. The show will offer the same gripping news content as the original, but will do so in only six minutes. This short-form version will also have separate stories and different correspondents than the show veterans who appear on the Sunday night version on CBS.

Quibi (short for quick bites) will focus on high-quality short form content that is designed to be watched on your smartphone. The mobile streaming streaming will offer two plans — $4.99 with ads and $7.99 without ads. The ad-supported product will include a pre-roll ad, as well as a one to two mid-roll ads depending on the length of the content.
