Redbox’s Free Live TV Reaches 60 Channels With Addition of Tastemade and Cheddar Channels

Redbox continues its expansion into the streaming market. According to Variety, Redbox’s ad-supported Free Live TV service celebrated a milestone, reaching 60 channels after adding Tastemade’s network of channels as well as Altice News’ Cheddar news channel.

“We’re excited to continue growing our Free Live TV offering with great new content, increasing our distribution and adding new features to help our customers find and watch great content however they want to watch it,” stated Chris Yates, GM of Redbox On Demand.

Mostly known for its DVD kiosks, the company has recently added 18 channels, including Architectural Digest, PBS’s America’s Test Kitchen, Complex, Funny or Die, beIN Sports, and Just for Laughs Gags, among many others. Redbox Free Live TV also includes other channels such as TMZ, USA Today, Bloomberg Television and Jukin Media’s FailArmy.

Redbox’s Free Live TV streaming service launched in February. The service offers live entertainment free of charge and doesn’t require a subscription, so there is no login or sign up needed. Free Live TV competes with other free ad-supported streaming services such as STIRR, Pluto TV, Tubi and Xumo.

The service also launched with three Redbox-branded sections: Redbox Rush, which hosts action and adventure programming; Redbox Comedy; as well as Redbox Spotlight, which has featured and recommended titles.

Redbox Free Live TV is available on the web at redbox.com, Roku, iOS and Android devices, Apple TV, Android TV, Vizio Smart TVs, LG TVs and Google’s Chromecast.
