Sling TV to Donate All Movie Rental Profits to Good360 Through April 5

Stephanie Sengwe

With thousands and thousands of people affected by the coronavirus every day, many institutions across the country are seeing a shortage of supplies and Sling TV wants to do their part to help.

The streamer announced that all profits from movie rentals placed on the platform through April 5 will be donated to Good360, a nonprofit organization that helps companies donate excess merchandise to charities instead of destroying it. In the advent of Covid-19, Good360 has been delivering critical supplies to healthcare providers and first responders, those quarantined and those facing adverse economic consequences due to the virus.

“The best way to protect our communities is to stay home,” said Warren Schlichting, Sling TV group president. “The second best thing we all can do is support our caregivers and those who are battling this virus and don’t get to stay home. Our hope is that our partnership with Good360 will give Americans another reason to stay safe while supporting those in need. Every action helps.”

Sling TV is currently offering users on-demand access to newly released movies, including “The Invisible Man,” “The Hunt,” “Emma” and “I Still Believe.”

The partnership with Good360 is part of Sling TV’s “Stay in and Sling” initiative, which offers free access to news and entertainment to customers they are quarantined.

The Sling TV free experience, which launched March 18, includes news from ABC News Live, Fox News and local Fox affiliates in 18 markets, including New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Houston, Phoenix, Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Fox News and certain Fox broadcast stations will remain a part of “Stay in and Sling’ temporarily.

The company doubled down their efforts and added 19 international news channels, including Al Jazeera, BBC Arabic, Times Now, Republic TV, EuroNews, France 24, Band News and ETTV News, covering the Middle East, South Asia, Europe, Brazil and East Asia.
