WWE Relaunching WWE Network Streaming Service With a Free Tier

Stephanie Sengwe

WWE Network—the WWE’s 24/7 live streaming direct-to-consumer network that includes all of WWE’s pay-per-view events, as well as classic fights—first launched in 2014. Since then, the Network has gone through some major changes since its split from Disney.

Now the streaming service is coming back bigger and better, relaunching with three pricing tiers that ensure maximum service to their consumers. The first tier is free. It offers the same free-to-watch videos that can be found on and may also include timed previews of paid WWE Network content. The second tier is their regular tier, which combines free content with subscription benefits like live pay-per-views, on-demand streaming, and original programming.

The third tier is a premium tier which according to WWE co-president, George Barrios, will “potentially bring together more content for [subscribers], more features, and also integrate some of our other non-video services like our commerce — potentially integrating something like free shipping, bringing together our digital ticketing efforts in there.” Pricing has not yet been announced.

WWE Network will also bring “Download To Go,” feature which will allow users to stream full-length pay-per-view events or TV shows from WWE, WCW, and ECW while offline. However, WWE pay-per-views are not expected to make the switch to 4K anytime soon. Though WWE ran tests and captured live events in 4K, but there’s still no definitive timeline on when they stream an event like WrestleMania in 4K and with HDR color.
