ABC News Live Streaming Channel Expands Coverage, Programming

Next month, the ABC News Live streaming channel will expand its news and programming, starting with original documentaries, such as “Guardians of the Amazon,” which airs in late February.

The streamer also plans to reach 18 hours a day of news coverage by year’s end.

“In 2020, we have the rare opportunity to create what a perfect 24/7 news channel looks like — breaking news, live events and documentary storytelling all in one place,” said Justin Dial, ABC News Live executive producer.

Correspondent Linsey Davis will anchor two prime-time hours of streaming every weeknight, while “World News Tonight” weekend anchor Tom Llamas will serve as the breaking news and special-events anchor, in addition to their broadcast roles.

On the election front, Llamas will anchor the Iowa Caucus coverage on Feb. 3, at 8:00 p.m. ET, while on Feb. 10, the eve of the New Hampshire primary, Davis will anchor a new prime-time newscast weeknights at 7:00 p.m. ET and a second hour each night at 9:00 p.m. ET.

“Streaming is the next frontier in broadcast journalism, and we’re entering this new era full speed,” Llamas said.

ABC News Live is available for streaming on The Roku Channel, Hulu Live, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Xumo, ABC News’s mobile and OTT app and ABCNews.com.
