LEAKED: AirTV Mini Looks Like a Chromecast, But With The Power of Android TV

Last week, there were reports of a new AirTV device hitting the FCC database and now we have the full details thanks to a thread on SatelliteGuys. Next month, it appears that Sling TV will be releasing a new version of their Air TV Player, which dramatically reduces the size of the device to something that appears similar to the Chromecast.

The device, which has a built-in HDMI cable, has a UI similar to the current AirTV Player, with YouTube, Netflix, and the Google Assistant pre-integrated. The AirTV Mini will include a remote that can control your TV, sound bar, and one-click access to both Sling and Netflix.

AirTV Mini is expected to retail for $80, which puts it slightly cheaper than the current AirTV Player ($99), but at a fraction of the cost of the NVIDIA SHIELD, and in range of the Xiaomi Mibox. Unlike other AirTV device though, there is no USB input meaning that you won’t be able to connect your OTA antenna directly to the device. In order to view them, you will need either an existing AirTV device — or what looks to be a refreshed AirTV 2 which is expected to be released in July
