Apple TV+ Releases Trailer for Steven Spielberg’s ‘Amazing Stories’

Ahead of Steven Spielberg’s remake of “Amazing Stories” for Apple TV+, slated for March 6, the streamer released the “Amazing Stories” trailer. The five-episode series is executive produced by Spielberg and reimagines the original 1985 fantasy-horror anthology.

Edward Kitsis and his partner Adam Horowitz, the duo who wrote “Lost” and “Once Upon a Time,” are co-executive producers with Spielberg.

The first episode in the series, “The Cellar,” stars Dylan O’Brien (“Teen Wolf”), Victoria Pedretti (“The Haunting of Hill House”) and Sasha Alexander (“Rizzoli & Isles”). Another, “The Rift,” stars Kerry Lynn Bishe (“Halt and Catch Fire”), Whitney Coleman (“Jurassic World”) and Edward Burns (“The Brothers McMullen”).

There are different directors for each episode, including Mark Mylod (“Succession,” “Game of Thrones”), Susanna Fogel (“Utopia,” “Play By Play”) and Chris Long (The Americans,” “The Mentalist”).

Two more Apple TV+ shows kicked off last month: “Mythic Quest” and “Little America.” “Little America” is co-written by Emily V. Gordon and her husband Kumail Nanjiani, the pair behind “The Big Sick,” which earned an Oscar nod for screenwriting.

Upcoming shows on the streamer include Rose Byrne (“Damages”) in “Physical,” a dramedy by Annie Weisman (“Almost Family), who will serve as showrunner. Patricia Arquette, who won a Golden Globe for her performance in Hulu’s true-crime series “The Act,” will next star in the streamer’s “Severance” directed by Ben Stiller.

In late January, Tim Cook, Apple’s chief executive, praised Apple TV+’s progress during the company’s first-quarter earnings call. The streamer debuted Nov. 1 with “The Morning Show” and “Dickinson.” Jennifer Aniston won a SAG award for best outstanding performance in a drama series for “Morning Show.”

The Apple TV+ subscription runs $4.99 per month with a seven-day trial.

To ensure a built-in audience, the streamer is free for a year to any Apple customer purchasing a new iPhone, iPod, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac or Apple TV.
