After being first announced in December, Court TV came back on the air yesterday. Unlike the cable exclusive channel which ultimately became truTV, the new Court TV is targeting cord-cutters. The first live cases involve the rape trial of a former NFL star Kellen Winslow II, as well as wall-to-wall coverage of the rape trial of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
Yesterday, the channel became available OTA in nearly 70 markets, as well as streaming live on Roku. The Court TV app, featuring a live feed of the network is now available on Amazon Fire TV, with Apple TV, Android, and iOS coming soon. Court TV will also be live streamed on CourtTV.com, the newly-launched site which features robust and exclusive online content - including the nation’s most compelling, high-profile cases over the past 20 years available on demand.
The network will continue to bring high-profile courtroom dramas to viewers, as it has for nearly two decades, with the new content 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Court TV weekday schedule will kick-off daily at 9 a.m. ET, with live coverage of the most important and compelling trials being conducted across America.
