Disney-Owned FX, FXX, FXM, and National Geographic Dropped From fuboTV

At midnight, fuboTV subscribers began to notice that FX, FXM, FXX, and National Geographic no longer appeared in the service’s channel lineup. The networks were acquired by Disney as part of their purchase of 21st Century Fox. fuboTV has had the channels as part of the service since it launched fuboTV Premier back in February 2017.

Given that fuboTV does not carry other Disney-owned networks like ABC, Disney Channel, and ESPN — it would not be surprising that Disney would not renew an expiring deal unless their full suite of channels were carried by the service. fuboTV has confirmed that as of “As of January 1, 2020, FX, FXM, FXX, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild, BabyTV, BabyTV Español, Nat Geo Mundo, and FOX Life have left fuboTV.”

Since closing their deal for 21st Century Fox, new agreements between Disney Media Networks and Live TV Streaming Services have included both Disney and Fox channels. Oddly enough, Disney became an investor in fuboTV through their acquisition of 21st Century Fox — who invested in their $75 million round of funding in April 2018.
