Disney Plus Debuts ‘Log Out of All Devices’ Feature in a Stance Against Hacking

When Disney+ launched back in November, one of the downsides to being so popular was the fact that everyone wanted access. The company saw some of its customers’ accounts hacked and sold online.

Now it seems Disney has found a solution to the issue. The streaming service has launched a “Log out of all devices” feature, which allows the account holder to sign out of all devices. The feature comes in handy should you see an unrecognized device gain access to your account. According to What's on Disney Plus, the feature is available for iOS devices.

Days after the launch of Disney+, thousands of customers reported they were hacked after signing up for Disney+. Hackers put stolen accounts up for sale on the dark web, the BBC News reported. Other users were locked out of their accounts.

BBC News contacted Jason Hill, a lead researcher with CyberInt, who said many of the stolen accounts were from people who use the same passwords for different sites. Hill said hackers tried the password on a new site like Disney+. If it worked, they stole the account.

Customers said they saw their emails and passwords changed.

An investigation by ZDNet found some accounts were either free or for sale — from $3 to $11. Disney+ costs $6.99 a month.
