Disney Plus Releases Trailer for ‘Muppets Now,’ Offers Sneak Peek of Celebrity Guests
Disney+ dropped a trailer today for the upcoming original series “Muppets Now,” which debuts on July 31. It’s the first, unscripted series for the famed Jim Henson creations.
It’s also the streaming debut for Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and their friends, which kicks off with a six-episode series.
New episodes will be released every Friday.
Kermit promises it will be “wild and funny” and include celebrity guests, such as Seth Rogen.
The show’s gist: Scooter needs to upload the “Muppet” series for streaming, but to secure that goal, he has to navigate whatever wacky chaos the rest of the gang chucks in his path. That includes everything from getting lifestyle advice from Miss Piggy to being sidelined by Dr. Bunsen Honeydew’s experiments.
Produced by The Muppets Studio and Soapbox Films, “Muppets Now” is an exclusive on Disney+, home to Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic.
On Tuesday, the streamer announced it will launch in eight countries September 15. They include Belgium, Finland, Portugal, Iceland, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
