It seems as though Disney has scoured the streaming landscape to make sure that their future subscribers get the most out of their service. We have learned that Disney+ will allow four simultaneous streams on 10 different devices. That means you can essentially have family and “extended family”, streaming from the same account without limitations.
This is in addition to the fact that the streaming service will allow unlimited offline mobile and tablet viewing. The service can be added to as many devices as users want and the only limit would be the amount of space on the device of choice.
In comparison, Netflix permits you to register six devices to your account, and will allow two to four streams at a time depending on your plan. Amazon Prime on the other hand, allows users to stream a maximum of three different titles on three different devices simultaneously. Fellow Disney subsidiary Hulu, lets users register as many devices as they wish. However, only one device can stream at a time for Hulu On-Demand programming while Hulu With Live TV allows a maximum of two streams at a time.
Disney has partnered with Apple, Google, Microsoft, Roku, and Sony to distribute Disney+. These partnerships give users the ability to sign up for the service on Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Xbox, and PS4 devices. As part of the partnership with Apple, Disney+ will not only support in-app purchase, but will also be fully integrated in Apple’s TV App at launch.
