How Many Simultaneous Streams Can You Use With Disney Plus?

…And How That Compares to Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, HBO Now, & Apple TV+

Disney+ launched on November 12th at $6.99 a month, nearly half the price of Netflix ($12.99). The service includes 4K streaming across a range of devices including Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, iOS, Android, & Web.

The streaming service has a deep catalog including the entire Disney Vault, Pixar and Star Wars libraries, MCU films like Avengers: Endgame, and the entire 30 seasons of The Simpsons. The first year will include 25 new original series, 10+ movies, 7,500 past episodes, 100 recent movies, and 400 library titles including the entire Disney Vault.

But, given that most people are planning to use it with their family near and far (and even in a galaxy far far away), some wondered how may concurrent streams you can use it with.

Disney+ Simultaneous Streams & Offline Downloads

If you are streaming Disney+ which connected to the Internet, you can use it with four simultaneous streams. However, you can download shows and movies on up 10 mobile or tablet devices to stream offline. When you stream content offline, it doesn’t count towards your four stream cap.

How Does Disney+ Concurrent Streams Compare to Other Streaming Services?

In comparison to other Video Streaming Services, Netflix allows streaming on a single device with their “Basic” ($11.99) plan, with simultaneous access on two devices on their “Standard” ($15.49) plan, and four devices on their “Premium” ($22.99) plan. On the other hand, Hulu can be logged into as many devices as you like, but only two can be streaming at the same time.

Amazon Prime Video allows you to stream up to three different titles at the same time using the same Amazon account, but the same title can only be streamed by two devices simultaneously. HBO NOW allows up to three viewers to watch streams simultaneously.

Apple TV+ is the most generous when it comes to concurrent streams, allowing simultaneous streaming across six different devices at the same time. SHOWTIME and CBS All Access can be used across a maximum of three simultaneous streams.
