‘Love, Victor’ Premiere Date Revealed, Series to Launch on Hulu on June 19

It’s official, “Love, Victor” will be making its way to Hulu on June 19. The series, a spin-off to the acclaimed film, “Love, Simon,” follows a closeted gay, 17-year old boy as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, all while struggling with his sexual orientation.

“Hailed for its LGBTQ inclusivity, the 2018 ‘Love, Simon,’ based on Becky Albertalli’s young adult novel ‘Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda’, is a coming-of-age film about Simon, a closeted gay teen growing up in the suburbs of Atlanta,” Deadline stated. It was directed by Greg Berlanti, best known for writing-producing “Dawson’s Creek,” “Everwood” and “Riverdale.”

The 10-episode “Love, Victor” was originally slated to premiere on Disney+, however, due to some of the sexual exploration and alcohol use in the series, the company decided to move the series to Hulu.

The cast includes Michael Cimino (“Anabelle Comes Home”) as Victor with Ana Ortiz (“Whiskey Cavalier,” “Ugly Betty”) as his caring mother and James Martinez (“House of Cards”) as his macho, blue-collar father. Additional cast members include Rachel Naomi Hilson (“This Is Us”), Bebe Wood (“The Real O’Neal’s,” “The New Normal”), and George Sear (“Will,” “Into the Badlands”).
