PGA Tour Live Will Stream Shots From Every Player at the 2020 Players Championship
PGA Tour Live is making a lot fans happy by making it possible for them to see every shot made by any golfer they want. Starting with the 2020 Players Championship, PGA Tour Live will live stream all 144 golfers who will be playing at the TPC Sawgrass.
Roughly 24 or 25 groups will be on he course at any given time and each group is to have its own dedicated stream. Almost 120 cameras are expected to be spread around the course to capture the action.
“We’re confident that by bringing all of this competition coverage out and producing it all, we will find multiple uses for it,” Luis Goicouria, the Tour’s Senior Vice President of Media, stated. “It could be daily fantasy, it could be gambling, it could be international players who never make the broadcast and now people in Sweden or Japan can now watch their favorite golfer. It could be any number of applications we haven’t even thought of yet.”
In the past, PGA Tour Live has featured group coverage as a streaming complement to the television broadcast window, however, viewers aren’t able to see most of the event’s action. At the Players Championship, coverage will be available to PGA Tour Live subscribers on either the NBC Sports Gold or Amazon Prime video channels.
