Pluto TV Enters Programmatic Partnership With SpotX in Latin America

Just a month after launching in Latin America, Pluto TV has entered into a partnership with SpotX — a global video advertising platform. According to Fierce Video, the video monetization partnership makes SpotX the programmatic partner to Pluto TV in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela and Brazil by the end of the year.

“As a company that’s focused on creating the very best television experience, we partnered with SpotX to support the launch of Pluto TV in Latin America because they have unmatched expertise in driving programmatic demand for OTT and can help us efficiently maximize our platform’s advertising capabilities,” said Felipe Cortelezzi, director of AVOD monetization at Pluto TV Latin America, in a statement.

Pluto TV officially launched in 17 countries across Latin America on April 8. The free, ad-supported streaming service brought over 12,000 hours of Spanish-language programming to Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Paraguay, El Salvador, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Channels offered in Latin America include Pluto TV Cine Estelar, Pluto TV Cine Acción, Pluto TV Cine Drama, Pluto TV Cine Comedia, Pluto TV Cine Terror, Pluto TV Series, Telefe Clásico, MTV Vintage, Nick Pluto TV, Nick Jr. Pluto TV, Pluto TV Junior, Pluto TV Kids, Pluto TV Anime, Pluto TV Deportes, Pluto TV Cocina and Pluto TV Viajes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In addition to expanding into Latin America, the streamer also announced a partnership with Vidaa International, a subsidiary of Hisense, which will see Pluto TV on Vidaa’s platform in the U.S., Europe and Latin America. And starting this spring, all Hisense televisions sold in the U.S. and Mexico will feature a branded Pluto TV button that sends viewers to the Vidaa platform.
