Roku Announces All-New Roku Streaming Stick 4K, Bundle with Roku Voice Remote Pro, & Upgraded Roku Ultra LT

Roku is launching a brand-new update to the Roku Streaming Stick+ and rebranding it the Roku Streaming Stick 4K. The device remains at $49.99 and has a number of speed improvements, better Wi-Fi performance, and supports Dolby Vision for the first time. Just like its predecessor, it includes the Roku Voice Remote with TV controls, but they now offer a bundle with the rechargeable Roku Voice Remote Pro called the Roku Streaming Stick 4K+ for just $69.99 (a $10 savings).

The Roku Streaming Stick 4K offers HD and 4K, with HDR, HDR10+, & Dolby Vision support. It doesn’t include native Dolby Atmos (but does offer pass-through), which still requires the latest Roku Ultra (2020) model. Unlike the Roku Express 4K that they launched in April, the Streaming Stick 4K has a more compact form, which plugs directly into the HDMI port on the back of your TV.

They will also be upping the performance of the Walmart-exclusive Roku Ultra LT, which has a refreshed processor, more storage, 50% longer Wi-Fi range. It also supports Dolby Vision & Bluetooth for the first time, which previously was only available on the more expensive Roku Ultra model.

The Roku Streaming Stick 4K, Roku Streaming Stick 4K+, and Roku Ultra LT will be available in mid-October. All devices will ship with the latest Roku OS 10.5, which was announced today. Those who activate a new Roku streaming device for the rest of the year will get a 30-Day Free Trial of HBO Max.

Roku Streaming Stick 4K

In comparison to the Roku Streaming Stick 4K+ that it replaced, the Roku Streaming Stick 4K is packed with new features. The device has a new Quad-Core processor and twice the memory of the Roku Streaming Stick+. Roku says that it will boot 30% faster and has longer-range Wi-Fi with up to twice the speed. The device also added Dolby Vision and HDR10+ for better image quality when you’re streaming.

  • Quad-Core Processor (30% Faster)
  • HD & 4K up to 60 FPS
  • HDR, HDR10+, Dolby Vision
  • Supports Dolby Digital 5.1 & Dolby Atmos (via pass-through)
  • Up to 2x Faster Wi-Fi Speeds
  • Includes Roku Voice Remote with TV Controls

“The Roku Streaming Stick has been a fan favorite for years and we’ve redesigned it in the Roku Streaming Stick 4K to be faster and more powerful than ever,” said Mark Ely, Vice President, Retail Product Strategy at Roku.

“It’s super-charged so you can stream in beautiful 4K and Dolby Vision even at a distance from your router and tucked neatly behind your TV. We’ve also added the Roku Voice Remote Pro to the Roku Streaming Stick 4K+ enabling TV lovers to find their remote just by using their voice – it’s also rechargeable and has been getting great feedback from customers. Whatever your streaming needs, we’ve got an incredible product lineup that features innovations from our singular focus on the TV streaming business.”

Roku Streaming Stick 4K+

If you choose the Roku Streaming Stick 4K+, you will also get the Roku Voice Remote Pro. The three main differences between the Roku Voice Remote and Roku Voice Remote Pro are that it is rechargeable, includes hands-free voice access, and offers private listening by plugging in headphones to the remote.

That means you can control playback simply using the command “Hey, Roku.”

Voice commands allow you to launch channels, turn on the TV, and control volume and playback. If you don’t want the remote listening, there is a hardware switch to turn off hands-free mode. You can even quickly find the remote by just saying “Hey, Roku, where’s my remote” and it will chime for you to find it.

  • Quad-Core Processor (30% Faster)
  • HD & 4K up to 60 FPS
  • HDR, HDR10+, Dolby Vision
  • Supports Dolby Digital 5.1 & Dolby Atmos (via pass-through)
  • Up to 2x Faster Wi-Fi Speeds
  • Includes Roku Voice Remote Pro

Just like the 2020 Roku Ultra, the Roku Ultra LT now includes Dolby Vision, Bluetooth, 50% longer Wi-Fi range, a better processor, and more storage. It does not include native Dolby Atmos like the Roku Ultra, but does support pass-through.

The Roku Ultra LT will be available at Walmart stores in the coming weeks for just $79.99.
