Yesterday, we learned that Fox Corp and Roku were in a dispute over the carriage of their apps on the Roku Channel Store. This means that starting today, Fox Now, Fox Sports, Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Nation, Big 10 Network and Fox Soccer apps will be removed — including those already downloaded to existing devices
Many local sports fans were concerned how this would affect their ability to watch their local teams on the Fox Sports Go App. Fortunately, for those who watch their Regional Sports Network like Fox Sports Detroit, Fox Sports Sun, and Fox Sports West — the Fox Sports Go app is unaffected.
That’s because despite the name, Fox Regional Sports Networks are now owned by Sinclair Media Group, who purchased the channels from Fox in May 2019. Despite the similar name, the distribution agreements are handled separately from those by Fox Corp.
To access the Fox Sports Go app, you can install it from the Roku Channel Store and activate it by using your TV Everywhere credentials, including from Live TV Streaming Services — if they carry them. Fox Sports RSNs are going through carriage disputes on their own. In late-July, the channels were dropped from Sling TV and were removed from fuboTV at the beginning of the year.
