Walmart’s Vudu Orders ‘Legacy’ Docuseries Executive Produced by Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade is once again putting on his executive producer hat and partnering up with Walmart’s video streaming service Vudu to produce a docuseries titled “Legacy.” Although an official premiere date is yet to be released, the eight-episode series will be available to stream on the ad-supported platform for free.

“Legacy” will follow children of prominent athletes, including Wade’s own son, Zaire, as they try to make a name for themselves as professional athletes as well. The series will showcase Zaire’s senior year of high school as he readies himself to be an NCAA Division I basketball player. Also included are “Vashti Cunningham, daughter of ex-NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham, who is a track and field athlete specializing in the high jump and a 2020 Summer Olympics contender; and Evan and Elijah Holyfield, sons of former heavyweight world-champion boxer Evander Holyfield,” Variety reports.

“I’m proud to executive produce ‘Legacy’ and bring my son’s unique athletic journey to other aspiring young athletes,” Wade said in a statement. “I hope this docuseries leaves viewers feeling inspired through showing the hard work and dedication needed to turn your dreams into reality.”

“Legacy” joins Vudu’s growing slate of originals. In September, the company announced the premiere of its first original series, “Mr. Mom.” The show, which is a reboot of the 1980s John Hughes comedy, had 11-episodes in the first season. The first two were made available on Sep.12, and the rest were released weekly. Vudu also exclusively debuted the first three episodes of Nickelodeon’s “Blue’s Clues & You” last September before it premiered on Nickelodeon.

Viewers can watch Vudu for free with ads or purchase episodes for $1.49 each in HD or the whole season for $7.99 for HD.
