AT&T TV NOW Adds Three Streams and 500 Hours of DVR Storage to Max and Plus Packages

Legacy Customers Remain with 2 Streams and 20 Hour DVR

AT&T TV NOW has confirmed to The Streamable that the Plus and Max plans now include an additional third stream for free and 500 hours of cloud DVR. The news comes as AT&T TV NOW moved their DVR infrastructure in house late last year.

Previously, customers got two streams and 20 hour DVR, which AT&T has said legacy subscribers will continue to get. Legacy customers can add a third stream for $5 a month, but as of now won’t be able to upgrade their DVR.

Just last month, AT&T TV NOW’s fellow competitor, Sling TV announced they had also added DVR with their service. While it’s not the biggest, Sling TV included 10 hours of DVR space for all Sling Blue and Sling Orange customers. fuboTV and Hulu Live TV each offer 30 and 50 hours respectively, while YouTube TV and Philo, on the other hand, offer unlimited DVR storage.

Last October, news came out that AT&T TV NOW was launching a new cloud DVR platform, but downgrading beta users from 100 to 20 hours of storage. While new customers always had 20 hours of DVR storage included since launch, those who were early beta testers were given 100 hours as a benefit.

At the time, it was speculated that with the launch of AT&T TV, their streaming version of DirecTV, (which includes a 500 Hour DVR), the company was probably making upgrades to their DVR platform in order to support the additional recording.
