‘El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie’ Was Viewed in Over 25 Million Households in First Week

Netflix has yet another hit on their hands with El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. The streaming giant announced on Twitter that the film was viewed in 25,734,392 households in its first week alone. The film, premiered on Oct.11.

The two-hour movie picked up right where the series finale ended back in 2013, with Jesse Pinkman on the run, seeking help from his friends—fan-favorites, Skinny Pete and Badger—and dealing with the trauma of having been imprisoned.

Netflix has been quite forthcoming about the fact that original content has been a big win for them. Back in July, as part of their second quarter results, the network reported that originals such as Dead to Me, When They See Us and Murder Mystery, among others, drew major viewership for the platform. Just last week, the company reported that the trend continued in the third quarter, with Stranger Things, Secret Obsession and Otherhood pulling in millions of viewers as well.
