‘Home Alone’ and ‘The Sandlot’ Among Titles Leaving Disney Plus in January 2020

Disney+ has been luring fans with its vast library of content but seeing as though not every single title can be on the platform all year long, some have to get the ax. According to a Reddit thread, “Home Alone,” “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” “The Sandlot,” “Dr. Dolittle,” “Flicka,” “The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” “Strange Magic” and “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration” are all leaving the platform in January.

Since its launch back in November, Disney+ has released lists of content to be added onto the platform, however, they haven’t given fans the heads up on content that is leaving the streaming service.

Yesterday, Disney+ released a compilation video of upcoming content on Twitter featuring all new titles and originals hitting the platform in 2020. The video included a short snippet of the highly anticipated “Lizzie McGuire” reboot as well as Marvel’s “WandaVision,” which was originally slated to debut in 2021.

Other originals coming to the platform include “Lamp Life” from Pixar, “Stargirl,” “Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made” and “Diary of a Future President,” a 10-episode series that follows Elena, a Cuban-American 12-year-old girl as she navigates the ups and downs of middle school and begins her journey to become the future president of the United States.

Also included in the compilation were blockbusters “Aladdin” and “The Lion King,” which will be available on the platform on Jan. 8 and Jan. 28, respectively.
