This year’s NHL All-Star Game will be a three-on-three tournament for the fifth year in a row. Four teams representing the NHL’s four divisions will go head-to-head and each of the three games will be 20-minute contests, according to Bleacher Report.
In the Eastern Conference, the Atlantic and Metropolitan divisions will face off in one semifinal match, and in Western Conference, the Pacific and Central divisions will duke it out. Winners from the conference games will battle it out to determine the 2020 champs.
The St. Louis Blues, the current Stanley Cup champions, will field three players before the hometown crowd: captain Alex Pietrangelo, goaltender Jordan Binnington and Conn Smythe Trophy winner Ryan O’Reilly.
Although Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin is sitting out this year’s games for the second year in a row, his team will be represented by forward T.J. Oshie, defenseman John Carlson and goalkeeper Braden Holtby, according to NBC Sports.
