The 77th annual Golden Globe Awards take place this Sunday at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Famed comedian and former (controversial) host Ricky Gervais will emcee the event for the fifth time.

This year’s award show is sure to be sight to see not only because of the fashion, but because of Gervais’ return to the stage. The comedian has proven to be merciless when it comes to roasting the world’s biggest stars as he has hosted the award show four times prior.

This year’s show will also stamp the streaming industry’s place in television and films as Netflix’s original film “Marriage Story,” snagged six nominations — the most for any film this year — with leads Scarlett Johannson and Adam Driver nominated in the major acting categories and the movie is up for Best Motion Picture Drama as well. Not too far behind is Martin Scorsese’s hit “The Irishman,” which snagged five nominations of its own and a Best Director nod for the filmmaker.

“The Crown,” “The Kominsky Method,” “The Politician” and “Unbelievable” snagged an additional 13 nominations for the streaming giant. Netflix walked away with 17 TV nominations altogether, besting HBO’s 15.

Amazon Prime Video’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “Fleabag” were both nominated for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. The streamer also got a nod for Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language for “Les Miserables (FRANCE)”

Not completely shut out is Hulu, which snagged a nomination in the Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture made for Television category for “Catch-22.”
