Hulu Adds Chrome App And 1080/60 FPS Streaming to Select Live Channels on Xbox One and Apple TV
Hulu continues to make their platform more efficient for their users. The streaming service announced on Tuesday that the release of the Hulu Chrome app — a new way for users to access Hulu on the web. Users will receive a prompt to add the Hulu app to their computer’s dock, taskbar, or start menu, which will open Hulu in a standalone window. The Hulu Chrome app will be available online only viewers using Google Chrome.
In addition, Hulu also announced they added 1080p/60fps to select live channels on Xbox One and Apple TV (4th generation or later)—allowing better picture quality for viewing. The feature will be added to additional devices and channels coming soon.
The new updates come as Hulu has been continuously rolling out updates. In October, the company rolled out 4K streaming to Xbox One devices, Amazon Fire TV and LG WebOS Smart TVs after removing it last year and bringing it back in July to Apple TV 4K and Chromecast Ultra.
Earlier this month they added 4K and 5.1 Dolby Digital Support to Roku streaming players and Roku TVs.
