As the coronavirus spreads, media events are being canceled to safeguard public health.
Tonight’s star-studded premiere screening of Hulu’s “Little Fires Everywhere,” headlined by Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, has been pulled, reports Deadline.
The streaming series will air March 18. “Little Fires” is based on Celeste Ng’s bestselling book.
The tense drama focuses on the lives of two families, the well-to-do Richardsons, headed by Witherspoon, and artist Kerry Washington and her daughter, who rent a modest apartment from them. The clash of money and class, as well as the dangerous secrets in both homes, prove a combustible combination.
The series is produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine banner, Kerry Washington’s Simpson Street and ABC Signature Studios, part of Disney Television Studios.
Last week, Hulu debuted the four-part Hillary Clinton series “Hillary,” which showcases the former secretary of state during her historic presidential campaign. “Hillary” was a breakout doc at the Sundance Festival this year.
Given the severity of the pandemic, broadcasters have also canceled their lucrative upfronts, opting for live streaming. TV shows have canceled European shoots, and sports franchises, like the NBA, have suspended the 2020 season.
