Late-Night Celebs Front ‘One World,’ Event Streams Worldwide

Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel are joining in the fight to keep America informed about COVID-19 — their way.

Deadline reports the late-night trio will host a two-hour special — “One World: Together at Home” — streaming April 18 at 8 p.m. ET on numerous platforms. They include Amazon Prime Video, Apple, Facebook, Hulu, Instagram, LiveXLive, Tencent, Tencent Music Entertainment Group, TIDAL, TuneIn, Twitch, Twitter, Yahoo, YouTube and China’s Alibaba.

That’s in addition to NBC, ABC and CBS and major cable channels, such as Bravo, E! and Nat Geo and international channels.

The show will be aired in 180 countries.

The global special will highlight community health workers and the efforts to end the pandemic. Multimillion-dollar pledges to the WHO’s Solidarity Response Fund are also showcased.

A host of top singers and musicians are attached to the project, such as Alanis Morissette, Lady Gaga, Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney, Chris Martin and Lang Lang, the classical concert pianist. Actors include Idris Elba and Kerry Washington.

The money raised by the event will be channeled to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, run by the UN Foundation, to equip healthcare workers worldwide. It will also support charities providing food and shelter.
