Magnolia Network Postponed, but Chip and Joanna Gaines Offer Preview Special of Future Series

Magnolia Network has postponed its October launch, due to the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down TV production, reports Deadline.

Magnolia Network, Discovery’s alliance with Chip and Joanna Gaines (“Fixer Upper), will eventually replace the DIY Network in a rebranding, as well as introduce eight original shows in the home/food niche.

They include “Bespoke Kitchens,” “Family Dinner,” “Restoration Road,” “The Fieldhouse,” “Super Dad” “Home Work,” “The Lost Kitchen” and “Inn the Works.” They join previously announced “Growing Floret” and “Home on the Road.”

Starting April 26, “Magnolia Presents: A Look Back & A Look Ahead,” will preview the upcoming series in a four-hour DIY show. It is being offered to 75 million homes as part of a free preview promotion.

Chip and Joanna Gaines stated: “We have an incredible team behind us and we look forward to the days ahead when we can get back to work, telling good stories that encourage, motivate and inspire hope.”

“Magnolia Presents” takes a look back at “Fixer Upper” with new footage and commentary about the show’s five-year run. Some episodes of the HGTV series will air on DIY in May. Once Magnolia Network debuts, the show will move there.
