As Disney prepares to officially launch Disney+ next Tuesday, November 12th, in the U.S. — the app has begun working in the states for the first time. The streaming service had a surprise launch in the Netherlands in September, but made the app virtually VPN proof — meaning that even if you had installed the app, you couldn’t watch anything unless you were physically in the Netherlands.
That changed starting yesterday, according to a source, who shared screenshots with The Streamable. Customers who had installed the app from the App Store and Google Play in the Netherlands can now see ~30 titles in the app even if they’re in the U.S., with a select few being playable. The rest of the titles listed, like D2: The Mighty Ducks, won’t be available at launch, but display when the will be arriving to Disney+. The app itself is full functional though with the ability to create and edit profiles, download movies, and add content to your watch list.
Apparently, the vast majority of the Disney+ library is still not viewable in the app, with the exception of 8 titles.

Customers in the U.S. still can’t install the Disney+ App though. The App is still only available for download for customers who have access to the Dutch App Store.
Disney originally unveiled in April that their streaming service would debut in the U.S. on November 12 at $6.99 per month, or $70 per year ($5.83/month). The first year will include 25 new original series, 10+ movies, 7,500 past episodes, 100 recent movies, and 400 library titles including the entire Disney Vault. The company announced 6 original shows and movies that will be available at launch, including Star Wars spin-off “The Mandalorian.”
Starting with the 2019 theatrical slate, all Disney/Pixar/Marvel/Star Wars films will become exclusive to Disney+ meaning movies like the live-action versions of Aladdin, The Lion King, Captain Marvel, and now Avengers: Endgame will only be available to stream on Disney+.
The app will support unlimited downloads, four simultaneous streamers, up to 7 profiles, 4K streaming, and includes hundreds of avatars.
