After bringing Friends to HBO Max, now the streaming service will be the exclusive home to The West Wing when it launches next year. The 156-episode series which was created by Aaron Sorkin stars Martin Sheen, Bradley Whitford, Allison Janney, Rob Lowe, and Richard Schiff. The streaming service, which is expected to cost $15-17 when it launches in Spring 2020, has brought over a number of library shows for the service.
In addition to Friends and The West Wing, the service will also be the home to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Big Bang Theory, and Pretty Little Liars. HBO Max will also be the new streaming home for original feature films from prolific producer Greg Berlanti and Reese Witherspoon — as well as content developed by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot.
The service will also bring over shows from The CW, after their deal with Netflix expired in May. Current CW series already streaming on Netflix (like Riverdale and The Flash) will continue to do so until they wrap their runs, but new shows produced by Warner will stream on HBO Max.
