Classic TV Shows from Viacom Channels Like MTV, Comedy Central, & Nickelodeon to Join Pluto TV’s Channel Lineup Starting May 1
Following up from a previous report, Viacom has officially announced that it’s bringing some of its world-class content to Pluto TV, with some of Viacom’s flagship networks joining the channel lineup of the streaming service; which Viacom bought in January for $340 million.
In a release from Viacom, Pluto TV, which has more than 15 million monthly active users, will debut on-demand content from BET, Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon beginning May 1, with content from Viacom’s iconic library of shows coming in three categories:
- Co-Branded Flagship Channels that are curated versions of Viacom’s leading networks.
- Signature Channels with the most celebrated and diversified programming from each brand.
- Pop-Up Channels that deliver binge-worthy series in marathon-style airings.
The Pop-Up Channels begin with MTV’s The Hills, which hopes to build momentum for the revival series that premieres on Monday, June 24, The Hills: New Beginnings.
Speaking on the new partnership, Tom Ryan, CEO & Co-Founder of Pluto TV, had this to say:
“We are thrilled to expand the Pluto TV offering with the addition of Viacom’s world-class channel brands and iconic programming. This is a major step forward in our mission of entertaining the planet.
