YouTube’s Popular CoComelon Kids Channel Now Available on The Roku Channel

Stephanie Sengwe

The Roku Channel announced today that they struck a deal with Treasure Studio and will add CoComelon to their lineup. The move is a huge feat for The Roku Channel since CoComelon — the most watched YouTube channel — will be available outside of YouTube for the first time ever.

“At CoComelon, we’re driven by being able to engage families with entertaining and educational content that makes universally relatable preschool moments fun. We are thrilled to launch with Roku today to make our popular programming available to Roku fans everywhere,” Treasure Studio creator and founder Jay Jeon said. “Roku shares our deep commitment to creating positive content environments for children and brings a unique ability to engage and promote programming to audiences especially within The Roku Channel. This partnership is an important component of our strategy to be everywhere our audience is today.”

CoComelon’s programming helps preschoolers learn letters, numbers, animal sounds, colors, and more. Fan favorites such “Bath Song,” “Yes, Yes Vegetables,” “Baa Baa Black Sheep,” “Wheels on the Bus,” and “Baby Shark Submarine,” will be available under Kids and Family on The Roku Channel.

Roku launched the Kids and Family section last August with 7,000 free, ad-supported movies and TV episodes. The content came from 20 launch partners, including Lionsgate, Hasbro and Mattel with franchises like “Care Bears,” “The Cat in the Hat,” “Leapfrog,” “Little Baby Bum,” “My Little Pony,” “Rev & Roll,” “Super Mario Brothers” and “Thomas & Friends.” Roku also partnered with for exclusive 22-minute episodes of “Ryan’s World.”

Earlier this month, Roku announced they reached 39.8 million active accounts in their Q1 2020 earnings report. In addition, the company said in their shareholder letter that “streaming hours increased by 1.6 billion hours over last quarter to a record 13.2 billion.”
