fuboTV Subscribers Watching More, Driven by Connected TVs

Fubo shared that user engagement (hours spent per user) reached an all-time high December.

The company highlighted that time spent on streaming media players like Roku, Apple TV, and Fire TV were the largest contributor to that with over 70 hours spent per viewer (up from 28 hours in December 2017). In September, the company shared that time spent per user was 51 hours in September 2018 vs. 11 hours in September 2017

The company also indicated that on their most popular device, which in the past has been Roku, users spent nearly 90 hours in December 2018.

One interesting shift is that consumers have started to spend more time watching entertainment (47%), followed by sports (33%), and news/talk (20%).

While there is more entertainment content in general, part of this trend has to do with a shift in content on Fubo. In 2018, the company added channels like AMC, BBC America, TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network, and truTV.
