Adam Devine is taking his comedy chops to Quibi.
His upcoming celebrity reality show, “Bad Ideas With Adam Devine,” a working title, is his wacky take on crazy adventures — such as Devine acting as human chum to attract piranhas.
Each episode features Devine (“Workaholics,” The Righteous Gemstones”) and a guest celebrity trying dangerous stunts at an exotic locale. Future ones include a chili pepper eating contest — with the spiciest peppers on earth.
Devine will host and executive produce the show. MAK Pictures is producing.
The actor will next star in the Disney+ movie “Magic Camp” with Jeffrey Tambor and Gillian Jacobs. The screenplay is based on a story by Steve Martin.
Quibi also announced it hired model Tyler Cameron, the runner-up in “The Bachelorette” season 15, and interior designer Delia Kenza to host “Barkitecture.”
At the Upfront Summit in Los Angeles on Thursday, Quibi CEO Meg Whitman said the mobile streamer isn’t competing with Netflix and the other big streamers for time, but it will compete for customers’ dollars. Quibi’s content aims at a younger demographic; its target audience is 25 to 35.
At launch, Quibi will offer a feature called “Turnstyle,” which provides seamless full-screen viewing whether a phone is in landscape or portrait mode.
The service launches April 6.
