CBS is Launching Dabl, Free Lifestyle OTA Network with Martha Stewart and Emeril Lagasse

Between their streaming networks like CBSN, ET Live, and CBS Sports HQ — it’s clear that CBS is riding the cord-cutting wave. Today, they announced a free, ad-supported lifestyle network called Dabl (“Dabble”) that is a cross-between HGTV and Food Network.

The network, which is a “diginet” or a sub-channel on an OTA network will focus on library content in the lifestyle category. The network will launch on September 9th and has already been cleared in 23 of the top 25 markets — and 70% of all markets. Two big names are tied to the venture — home and lifestyle guru, Martha Stewart, and celebrity chef, Emeril Lagasse.

The company began their streaming efforts in November 2014, with the launch of CBSN, a 24/7 streaming news service. Just last week, they launched their second localized version of the channel called CBSN Los Angeles. In addition to CBS Sports HQ and ET Live, the company also has CBS All Access — which brings live access to your local CBS affiliate, original shows, and on demand access to CBS primetime programming.
